Scottish Enterprise Boosts Development of Oil and Gas

IT infrastructure networks business Xtreme Business Solutions doubles profits, diversifies into Oil and Gas.

Xtreme Business Solutions, with help from Scottish Development International, the international arm of Scottish Enterprise and GobalScot, has increased turnover to UK£3.8 million in 2014, up from 1.7million in 2011.

Company growth has also catapulted staff numbers from 30 to 48 across international offices stretching from Scotland to Poland. “Supporting companies in Scotland to grow is a key part of our business… by working with forward thinking, ambitious companies such as Xtreme Business Solutions, we aim to make a significant and lasting impact on Scotland’s economy” explained Scottish Enterprise account manager Gordon Esslemont.

Expanding on their role with Xtreme Business Solutions, Gordon continued; “working together, we’re helping the company develop and implement an overseas strategy and are already working with our GlobalScot network to explore the option of creating a satellite office in Houston”

Moving Forward

Managing Director Graeme Duncan explains what to Xtreme Business Solutions will continue to look for moving forward; “It’s hard to believe where we were just over three years ago…we’ve successfully reassessed our business model and grown as a result…[and]…entering the next phase of our development, we aim to capitalise on a number of significant international opportunities”

Alongside Xtreme Business Solutions, smaller companies under the guidence of international players are making inroads into North Sea activities.

More flexibility and specialised knowledge are cited as some of the main reasons allowing smaller to gain advantage in securing oil and gas contract opportunities overseas.
